1 Cleaning and maintenance

Regular cleaning of the device is not necessary. If white crystals start to form on the rubber nubs on which the microfluidic chip is placed, they can be wiped away with a soft tissue soaked in dry acetonitrile. Do not leave the lid opened for longer than necessary!

In rare faulty cases (for example: severe pressure drop during operation, chip/placeholder not inserted in the device, inserting two chips into the device, wrongly inserted chip, inserting a chip instead of a placeholder) the reagents can spill out of the cartridge, which leads to contamination of the system. If you suspect that such contamination has occurred, Kilobaser should be cleaned more thoroughly manually. Do not forget to wipe spilled reagents from the surfaces. Use protective equipment!

Please do not clean the rubber sealing gasket! If you suspect that the rubber sealing gasket is deformed/defective, you can order a new one and attempt to exchange it yourself as follows:
Carefully pull the gasket out of the holes in the aluminum block. After removing the old gasket, a new one can be inserted by firmly pushing the nibs into the holes. Please contact Kilobaser support if you require assistance.

The casing can be cleaned using a dry or damp cloth. Do not use solvents or detergents.
